My SECRET Revealed!

So I haven’t spoken alot about what my SECRET: Abstract Adventures is about over at 21 SECRETS…now have I?!!

(Enter evil laugh!)

Well, I guess it’s time to spill the beans…

of course it has to do with FEARLESS™ Painting…

but how does FEARLESS™ Painting and Art Journaling mix together into one big whirl of magic and awesomeness?!?!

Well in a FEARLESS™ Art Journal of course!!!

And that’s me above–giving my FEARLESS™ Art Journal a much deserved hug–because that baby has brought forth much insight and release in my life…and in Abstract Adventures on 21 SECRETS I share an introduction to FEARLESS™ Painting with you through the beauty and joy of painting BIG in a FEARLESS™ Art Journal!!

And here’s the fun part–right from day one I was making FEARLESS™ painters out of some of those die-hard Art Journalers!! Lovelies from all over the globe were picking up the paintbrush, shaking their rump maker (oh yeah!), letting their intuition lead the show, and just going for it!!

WAHOOO!!

My heart has been bubbling like chili ever since Friday from all the FEARLESS™ painting taking place. And I need to share some of it here with you today.

I started this weekend off with a bang, thanks to Connie and her Abstract Adventure course. I got big and colorful! First, I got all my stuff together. I didn’t have a journal or an easel or big brushes but I did it anyways. I had this attitude of, “Nothing is getting in my way baby, I am going to be FEARLESS!”

…years ago I used to paint…BIG. This size in fact. I stood up, taped paper to the wall, and painted…just like Connie suggests in her class. What I realized today as I was painting was that the SAME IMAGERY was coming out of me. I’m all about the swirl, the flower, the leaves, natural shapes…and my favorite, the “bubble”, to others a basic circle. As I painted I saw old friends come back.

This process has been so helpful – exactly what I needed to delve into first. The loosening and body motion before painting influences the looseness of the brush and just letting it flow.

Started out very abstract and kind of morphed into a little more figurative….so abstract-ed I’d say! So much fun! Felt such freedom not having to make it into something recognizable….happened to get that way on it’s own with no planning on my part….just happened. Can’t wait to do more!
