Days of Longing is a seven-day online workshop, where we'll transform our deepest longing into sacred form, color fields of pure energy, and honest mark making.

DAYS OF LONGING IS PART PAINT RITUAL, PART IMMERSION, PART WORKSHOP

What You'll Receive In Days Of Longing...

Days of Longing is a week long paint ritual — part immersion, part mini-workshop — where you'll spend seven days exploring your longing through instinctual mark making. We'll activate our instinctual nature by painting with bare hands, found objects, and brushes, literally feeling our way through the painting. Varying our palettes, our marks, our literal hand gestures — all of it in service of transmitting longing onto the substrate.

Monday through Thursday, you'll receive a pre-recorded video each day (approximately 30-45 minutes) where I present that day's theme for you to explore in your sketchbook or on your substrate — demo and discussion both.

Friday and Saturday, we meet live on Zoom, where you'll take everything from your Monday-Thursday explorations and build a small series of paintings that actually expresses what it is you're longing for. Less direction, more feeling. These calls include demos, discussion, and independent painting time — I'll visit each painter in their own Zoom room.

Sunday, you're invited to post your final work, where you and your fellow painters will exchange individualized feedback and support.

Day One | Swaying Around the Edges

Monday, September 28th | Pre-recorded video

We begin with our hands. No brushes, no tools, no barrier between you and the page — just skin and instinct and the first tentative marks of what's been living underneath. This is where longing gets its first shape, however small, however shaky. We're not trying to make it pretty. We're trying to let it out.

Day Two | Sinking In

Tuesday, September 29th | Pre-recorded video

Music becomes our compass today. We'll use sound and various color palettes as a way in — letting a song do what words can't, and letting color tell the truth before your thinking mind has a chance to edit it. This is the day we stop describing the longing and start feeling it on the page.

Day Three | Visual Poetry

Wednesday, September 30th | Pre-recorded video

We play with prompts — chaos, caring, rhythm, and more — deepening the thread between hand, heart, and intuition. This is the day the grip loosens. By now your hands should be starting to trust themselves more than your mind does.

Day Four | Excavating Form

Thursday, October 1st | Pre-recorded video

Hands, fingers, found objects, and brushes come together to dig something up — literal forms that feel symbolic of your longing. Whatever's been circling all week starts to take shape here. This is the excavation site.

Day Five | The Longing, Unearthed

Friday, October 2nd | Live on Zoom — 8-11 AM & 12-2 PM PDT / 11 AM-2 PM & 3-5 PM EDT

Our full day together. Morning opens with discussion, demo, & exercises before we move into independent painting time — I'll be popping into your Zoom room one-on-one as you work. The afternoon goes deeper still, more painting, closing with a short reflection to mark how far you've traveled in a single day.

Day Six | Going Deeper

Saturday, October 3rd | Live on Zoom — 8-11 AM PDT / 11 AM-2 PM EDT

We gather again — discussion, independent painting, reflection. This is your day to sink fully into your own process, finish what wants finishing, and let the piece tell you what it's actually been about all along.

Day Seven | Surfacing

Sunday, October 4th | Online classroom

No Zoom today — just the classroom, where you'll post your finished work and receive individualized feedback from me and your fellow painters. Longing doesn't want to stay hidden forever. This is the day it gets fully seen.

SUPPLY LIST

The most important thing you will need for Days of Longing is a way to tape down your substrate onto a table, hard surface, or drawing board and to feel free to splash paint on the surface as you are painting. Things will get a bit messy in this workshop, so prepare accordingly.

Second, you are not required to paint with your bare hands. If you prefer to wear gloves during this process, you will receive the same powerful experience.

If you have immune deficiencies, skin sensitivities, or are prone to allergies, I highly recommend wearing gloves.

An alternative to gloves is a lotion called "liquid gloves". There are various brands that make liquid gloves. Please research online to find the brand that will best serve you and your needs.

Third, I highly recommend working with mixed media paper that is large, but you still have enough room to tape it down to your table or hard surface. This Canson XL Mixed Media pad or this Canson XL Mixed Media pad are great for Days of Longing.

Lastly, before I list the other suggested supplies below, for Days of Longing the best type of paint to use is acrylic paint. There is no specific acrylic paint brand that I recommend, working with craft paint to Golden, it doesn't matter. What is important is that you have colors available that you love and relate to, as well as the basics. Plus you will definitely need a water container you can wash your brushes in, but large enough for you to dip your hand into as well.

Days Of Longing is for you if...

You have at least three years of experience making art, can work independently, but love creating in community.

You've been carrying something you haven't quite let yourself name.

There's a longing living in the depths of your heart that you keep meaning to sit with, but life keeps handing you a reason not to.

You're an artist who's ready to make art that comes from feeling, not overthinking.

You're willing to paint with your bare hands (or at least with latex gloves on) and not know exactly what you're making until it's already made.

You know, somewhere underneath it all, that your hands are already longing to reveal something. And you're finally ready to let them.

Days of Longing is NOT for you if you want a tidy tutorial and a guaranteed pretty outcome. This week isn't about pretty. It's about honest. Bring your longing. Leave your polish at the door.

SCHEDULE + IMPORTANT DETAILS

Days of Longing is a seven-day online workshop.

Connie will be present to answer questions, provide feedback, and offer support starting Monday, September 28th through Monday, October 5th. Come Tuesday, October 6th you will still have access to the classroom and content, but Connie will no longer provide feedback and support. You can connect with Connie during this time through the private Days of Longing classroom and on the Zoom calls.

The Days of Longing classroom will open on Monday, September 21st. This online classroom is held at Connie's Paint Wisdom Studio Mighty Network. Expect to receive an invite in your inbox by 3 PM PDT / 6 PM EDT on that date.

Monday through Thursday a lesson will post in the Days of Longing classroom at 4:00 AM PDT / 7:00 AM EDT. You do not need to be present when the lesson posts. You will have full access to the lesson starting at that time. Each lesson will contain a video (approximately 30-45 minutes long) and a PDF outlining that days lesson and homework.

Friday we will meet on Zoom for three hours starting at 8:00 AM PDT / 11:00 AM EDT. Then we will take an hour break, followed by another two hour Zoom session beginning at 12:00 PM PDT / 3:00 PM EDT. (CLICK HERE to see what time this is where you live.) Each of these sessions will be recorded and the recording posted later that day in the classroom.

Saturday we will meet on Zoom for a three-hour session starting at 8:00 AM PDT / 11:00 AM EDT. This session will too be recorded and the recording will be posted in the classroom later that day. There is only one Zoom session on Saturday.

Sunday is for posting your final work in the classroom for Connie's individualized feedback and support. Connie will be extending her feedback on pieces that are posted on Monday as well.

ARE THE ZOOM CALLS RECORDED?

WILL I LEARN TO PAINT LIKE CONNIE?

Nope.

In Days of Longing you will be invited to independently create art and use your creativity, imagination, and intuition to make your work your own. I'll be there to guide, support, mirror, and push you a little too!

I will be doing demos and sharing what I am working on more intimately. But it will always be with the intention to express a point or share an approach or technique.

CANCELLATION & REFUND POLICY

All registration fees are non-refundable and non-transferable, so please register with intention.

If a payment fails, you will have 48 hours to resolve it. Failure to do so will result in the termination of your Days Of Longing membership.
