FACETS gets its name after the question I ask my painters once I’ve told the myth for the very first time:
"Who are you in this story?"
Maybe you’re the goddess right before she rises. Maybe you’re the dirt on the floor as she trips and hits the ground. Maybe you’re the helper who shows up at just the right moment, the rainbow that appears whenever she’s near, or the mirror she glances into right before she rushes to meet her beloved. Maybe you're her beloved.
Whoever (or whatever) you are, that’s your facet.
You can't control what the myth activates in you: the moment that gave you chills, the memory it dug up, the irritation that made you want to pull your hair out, the weird thing you couldn’t stop thinking about or even the sadness it provokes.
This facet is your portal into your painting process and the cue for your Artist Soul to start sinking deep. You paint it. You sit with it. You bring it to our circle and we stir it into gold.
In FACETS we don’t just make a body of work inspired by goddess myths. We live inside them.
We paint them from our Artist Soul, and we retell the myths in ways that give our souls a voice and impacts how we think about our painting practice and most importantly our lives.

WHAT IS FACETS?
FACETS is a paint ritual with a rhythm of its own.
Over three sessions, we step into twelve goddess myths from various cultures and traditions. Learning how to listen closely and letting each myth find the place where it touches us.
Then we paint from that place — our facet.
But the best part is our soulful discussions where we share what surfaced and reflect on how retelling these myths is shaping our practice and our lives.
Across PROTECTION, SEDUCTION, and CREATION, the goddess myths and archetypes we meet give us a language for what’s alive in us, and each session carries us a little deeper into our Artist Soul.
FACETS is for painters ready to take a mythic journey, to paint from their Artist Soul, and to bring every facet of who they are into fierce, alive expression.
One Myth. Three Phases.
We spend two weeks exploring each goddess myth. You’ll listen deeply, sketch and journal, and then paint your way into her myth. Through Activation, Immersion, and Integration, your personal connection to the story becomes living, breathing artwork.
ACTIVATION
Pre-Recorded Video
Each exploration begins with a pre-recorded video where I introduce the goddess, her archetype, and her myth. You’ll listen to it while making sketches and paying attention to how the myth touches you, what parts pull you in, what pushes you away, and what keeps crawling back, even after the recording ends. Everything is fair game in the Activation phase.
IMMERSION
3-Hour Zoom Call
We begin with soulful conversation, where you bring in what you discovered during your Activation. Sometimes we’ll play with a creative exercise to get the juices flowing or sink into our vivid imagination with a guided visualization. Then we spend two hours painting together, inside mythic space. While we paint, I’ll visit each of you individually to mentor, witness, and guide you deeper into what’s showing up in your work.
INTEGRATION
90-Minute Zoom Call
The following week we gather for a 90-minute Integration call to share and reflect on our work and what we discovered while exploring and painting this myth and archetype. We honor what we’ve uncovered, and then we carry it with us, spiraling deeper into the next goddess.
Each session also includes ninety minutes opening call, private classroom access, and personalized feedback and support from me, Connie Solera.

These four myths teach us about bringing something into being that didn't exist before. It's about the Muse calling to you, the wisdom you've gathered, the act of making itself, and then—the legacy. The creation you leave behind.

FACETS IS NOT FOR EVERYONE

YOU ARE NOT A BEGINNER
First and foremost, FACETS is for artists who are NOT beginners. You must have at least three to four years of art-making under your apron and feel comfortable working independently. FACETS is made for artists who can work alone but crave mentorship, a community of soulful artists, and a creative container that will stretch, challenge, and evolve who you are as an artist. No formal art training is required.
YOU WANT TO PAINT WITH AND BE MENTORED BY CONNIE SOLERA
In FACETS, each painter receives individual feedback, guidance, and support from Connie through what you share in the online classroom and in our weekly calls. During the Immersion calls, Connie visits each artist individually to speak with them in real time about their process. For artists who can’t attend the calls live, Connie is available to discuss your work in the classroom.
YOU WANT TO MAKE A UNIQUE & VERY PERSONAL BODY OF WORK
FACETS isn’t about painting pictures of goddesses. It has nothing to do with that, actually. In each session we explore four goddess myths and archetypes by listening to the myth and noticing what gets activated for us. We use whatever feelings, memories, fresh ideas, and symbols that surfaced as our portal into our painting process. From there, the painting itself becomes a mythic unfolding, showing us things about our own life, relationships, struggles, and gifts that have been hidden or dormant, and helping us breathe new life into our Artist Soul. In FACETS we create art that is honest and vulnerable — we welcome and celebrate ALL OF IT — including work that is weird, edgy, and even downright taboo.

Storytelling, guided visualizations, soulful conversations, moments of deep reflection, and Paint Rituals are woven throughout FACETS, creating a ripe environment for artists who yearn for a deeper relationship to their Artist Soul and their painting practice. Myths have been passed down for thousands of years to help humans understand natural disasters, the agony of disease, the cruelty of war, and the complexities of human nature, as well as the beautiful truths, magic, and creativity that exist in life too. Myths don’t sugarcoat the raw intensities of being alive. Murder, rape, kidnapping, war, incest, and destruction show up sometimes in the myths we study. So does eroticism and taboo. In FACETS we contextualize these intense aspects as ways of explaining the unexplainable parts of being human and of nature, as cautionary tales of what can happen when society goes astray, and as mirrors of the human mind, emotions, and psyche. We view the myths with an expansive lens, rather than simply "good vs. evil". Much of this exploration happens through our own painting process and weekly discussions.

In FACETS we embrace myths as living, breathing, ever-evolving stories that exist inside us and activate something we then bring to our painting practice. You’ll learn about 12 goddesses and the 12 archetypes associated with them, and we’ll examine the elements that make up a myth and how those elements show up in our painting process. We also explore how these myths played a sacred role in cultures and traditions around the world, inspiring us to bring elements of myth into our studio practice and our lives.

Connie is not a trained mythologist or Jungian analyst, and FACETS is not an academic study of myth. Her three-decade passion for mythology shapes her painting practice and her life. In FACETS, we honor where these stories come from, and then we take the liberty, as artists, to retell and reshape the myths through paint, reflecting the change, healing, and shifts in power we wish to see in the world. We look openly and honestly at the myths and dream into new dynamics, norms, and ways of being that myths could embody. Through our conversations and our painting practice, we dream new myths into being.
