I’m posting this little diddy right here to visually mark the beginning point of a body of work I am fully committing to for the next year.

Technically I began this body of work in November — but I didn’t start gaining clarity around it until the last couple months.

Then last week something totally broke open — now I’m in it. Like really in it & sinking fast.

So before I get too deep, I wanted to throw an anchor in — a visual trail marker — to remind me what my intention is when things get too murky or the pull back to familiar territory gets too strong.

I spent most of today helping my son Spring clean

I spent most of today helping my son Spring clean & reorganize his bedroom & now I’m sitting outside with my sketchbook, feet propped up, Rocket by my side, thinking about a larger piece I plan on making as part of my Into the Heart program I’m hosting online. I wanna kick out a few more sketches before the sun sets.

For me, art making is always involves part following my intuition, part playing with ideas in a seeking kind of way, & part just seeing where the whole dang thing takes me.

I’ve been in Sedona this weekend celebrating my son’s 12th birthday. We’ve been doing a lot of hiking & a lot of eating. But I’ve been able to sneak in a little sketching last night (check out my stories) & yes — you better believe it I brought my red sketchbook with me!! A few weeks ago I got the flu from hell & it’s been taking me awhile to get over it. I’m finally feeling human again & getting back into the swing of things in the studio. But while I was sick, I still tended to my creative practice — even a teeny tiny bit a day. Thanks to my colored pencils & boring sketchbook I keep on my nightstand.
