Artists at the beginner level. Participants should have a minimum of 3 years of experience in art-making and feel adept at working independently.

How does the Paint Wisdom Mentorship work?

11 LIVE ZOOM CALLS: The Paint Wisdom Mentorship includes 11 live Zoom calls where we'll gather in to discuss the week's topic, check in on your progress, work through creative exercises, and have time for Q&A. These two-hour calls take place on Thursdays at 9 AM PST / 12 PM EST and are recorded for you to review again and again.
10 WEEKLY LEARNING MODULES:The Paint Wisdom Mentorship includes 10 weekly learning modules, each providing PDFs, audios, and videos designed to support and deepen your practice. Each module takes approximately 60-90 minutes to review and is yours to keep. When the Paint Wisdom Mentorship classroom opens on Monday, August 12th, you will receive the first two modules to review before our opening call on Thursday, August 29th.
CREATING A UNIQUE BODY OF WORK: Over the three months we spend together, you will follow your intuition, creative interests, and curiosity to create a unique body of work. This Mentorship does not involve teaching painting techniques or steps on how to paint like me. Instead, you will receive the structure, support, accountability, and guidance needed to make your own creative decisions, trust your inner guidance, challenge yourself artistically, and express yourself fearlessly.
WEEKLY CHECK-IN'S:Each week, you'll be accountable for writing a check-in discussing an aspect of your creative practice from the previous week. To assist you in this process, you'll receive weekly reflection questions. You'll also have access to your peers' weekly check-ins, providing inspiration and the opportunity to receive support and feedback from both your peers and me.
POWERFUL ARTIST BIO & STATEMENTS: Through the Paint Wisdom Mentorship, I will guide you in crafting a compelling Artist Bio and Artist Statement. These will accompany your work in an online exhibition we affectionately call a "Vision," where we'll celebrate and honor the body of work you create during the Mentorship. I'll also assist you in organizing, curating, and launching your Vision.
3 CO-PAINTING SESSIONS: We have three co-painting sessions scheduled for Thursdays: September 26th, October 24th, and November 21st at 9 AM PST / 12 PM EST. These sessions offer you the chance to casually gather on Zoom for two hours to paint and chat with your peers. To maintain a relaxed atmosphere, these calls will not be recorded.
2 VISION CALLS: During the Vision Calls, each artist will present their body of work and receive valuable insights and feedback from Connie and the other artists in Paint Wisdom. The Vision Calls are scheduled for Thursday, December 5th and Friday, December 6th at 9 AM PST / 12 PM EST. Attendance at each 3-hour Vision call is mandatory.

What supplies do I need?

For the Paint Wisdom Mentorship you will create a body-of-work using materials and substrates that you love and resonate with the most. So please use what you feel the most called to and/or comfortable with.

In addition to the materials and substrates you choose for your body-of-work, you are encouraged to have the following as well:

A sketchbook or notebook you can use as a studio log and for taking notes.
An art journal dedicated to contemplating the weekly topic with.
THIS MIXED-MEDIA PAD for doing creative exercises.
A camera phone for taking photos of your art work and process.

What are the dates and times of the Zoom calls?

All live calls for the Paint Wisdom Mentorship will take place on Zoom at 9 AM PST / 12 PM EST. Each call, except for the two VISION calls, are two hours long. The co-working calls are the only calls NOT recorded. Below is the schedule of live calls:

Is it mandatory that I attend the weekly Zoom calls?

Each Zoom call will last 2 hours long with the exception of the two VISIONS call (3 hours) and the Closing Call (90 minutes. Each Zoom call will contain a combination of creative exercises, small group work, guided visualizations, Q&A, and juicy discussions.

These weekly calls are THE BEST part of the Mentorship and attendance to these weekly calls is required for you to receive the most benefits possible from the Mentorship.

The calls are recorded and yours to keep.

How much work can I expect each week?

The Paint Wisdom Mentorship is designed to meet each artist exactly where they are in their artistic journey and life circumstances. Each artist's experience with the Paint Wisdom Mentorship will look and feel different. Though, here are a few things you can expect around the workload:

Every Thursday is a live Zoom call that will last 2 hours. Expect to add some time before hand to prepare and get yourself settled in.
Expect to spend approximately 1 - 2 hours per week reviewing the weekly learning module.
Expect approximately 2-4 hours a week completing the reflection and homework invitations presented in the weekly learning modules.
The Paint Wisdom Mentorship is designed for you to spend more time in the studio and less time online. Each week you will need to tend to your own creative practice. The amount of time you spend on this will depend on your unique creative process and life circumstances. In the Paint Wisdom Mentorship we focus on creating a long-term sustainable practice, so there is attention placed upon not overextending yourself and being aware of habits and behaviors that can lead to creative burn-out.
Depending on your level of comfortability and interest, expect to spend anywhere between 15 minutes to a few hours sharing and communicating in the Paint Wisdom Mentorship classroom each week. Having a nourishing, supportive community is essential to being an artist, but in the Paint Wisdom Mentorship we will enforce creating strong, healthy boundaries around how you commune with the online community and online art world in general.

Do I need previous art experience or training?

To participate in the Paint Wisdom Mentorship it is highly recommended that you have at least three years of creative practice under your apron. To fully receive all the benefits and magic of this Mentorship you must be comfortable, or at least eager, to work more independently as an artist.

Formal training in the arts is NOT required.

The Paint Wisdom Mentorship is NOT a typical class or workshop. This is a mentorship where I will provide guidance, support, encouragement, and accountability -- as well as an intimate, personal look at my own process as well through weekly learning modules.

What type of technology do I need?

A computer or mobile device with connection to the internet. A high-speed connection will help reduce possible frustration.
A working email account that you are familiar using.
A free Zoom account and a webcam that you use to connect to Zoom.
A free membership to my Paint Wisdom Studio hosted on Mighty Networks.
All videos in the Paint Wisdom Mentorship are hosted on Vimeo and/or Loom and are best supported by the up-to-date version of the following browsers: Chrome, Safari, Firefox, Opera, & Internet Explorer.
You need to be comfortable with basic technology skills – primarily accessing videos, taking photos of your work, and posting your photos to the Paint Wisdom Mentorship classroom.

How does the Paint Wisdom Mentorship differ from the Paint Wisdom Intensives?

Well, first the obvious: the Paint Wisdom Mentorship is a three-month, online immersive. My Paint Wisdom Intensives are week-long, in-person intensives.

In both programs I guide you on the amazing adventure of creating a body-of-work and nourishing your Artist Soul, but in the Paint Wisdom Mentorship we take the time to go much, much deeper through weekly learning modules and individualized mentoring.

What if I have no idea what I want to create/paint?

How much is registration? Is there a payment plan?

The cost of the Paint Wisdom Mentorship if paid-in-full is $3500 USD. (By paying in full you save $300)

Because registration in the Paint Wisdom Mentorship is highly limited, there are no refunds or transfers.

Two monthly payment plan options are available and posted below.

Four months of $950 USD
Five months of $760 USD

If your payment fails, you have 48 hours to pay it or your membership in the Paint Wisdom Mentorship is terminated and the full balance is due.

If you decide to quit the Paint Wisdom Mentorship, your full balance is due immediately unless another plan of payment is agreed upon by Connie Solera.

Sixteen Transformative Zoom calls designed to awaken and nourish your Artist Soul. Each call is held at 9AM PST / 12 PM EST on Thursdays for 2 hours, recorded, and yours to keep (except for the Co-Working calls they are NOT recorded and there is one VISION call that is held on Friday, December 6th.).
- 11 Weekly Group Calls for creative exercises, review of learning module, and Q&A.
- 3 Co-Painting Sessions casual calls for creating with your peers.
- 2 VISION Calls
Ten weekly online modules containing PDF's, audios, and videos will be released each week after our Group Call is finished.
Individualized feedback, support, and guidance tailored to the body-of-work you are creating.
Weekly accountability check-in where you will post what you were working on for the past week. Connie will provide feedback on your weekly check-ins and you have access to the check-in's of your peers as well.
Membership to the private Paint Wisdom Mentorship classroom where you can share and be inspired by your peers. Each artist will be given a "digital portfolio" in the classroom to keep track of your practice easily.

CONFIRMATION & COMMUNICATION

Within 24 hours of making your deposit you will receive a welcome email to the email address that you used to make your purchase. This welcome email is confirmation of your registration and it will contain important information on how to begin preparing for your Mentorship. In it will also be a link to complete the Paint Wisdom Mentorship registration form that will help me get to know you better. This registration form must be completed by Monday, August 5, 2024.
On Monday, August 12, 2024 you will receive an invite to join the Paint Wisdom Mentorship classroom. There will be a welcome module waiting for you that will introduce you to the Mentorship policies, online format, and structure.
