A Little Voice Whispered

I was on my way to work like any other regular weekday. About a quarter the way there my thoughts took over and began to steal any peace my day was about to inherit from the beautiful morning. “I hate this about my job….Why do they do this at my job…that is stupid…and this is stupid too…and things would be better IF…and I would NOT hate my job if THEY didn’t do this...or say that….or think I was going to do this…..”

“Where is the heart in that place? That place has no heart–no soul—just negativity.”

But today was different. Really different.

Right after that last thought made its grand entrance into my mind I heard a little voice…a little, tiny voice I am sure I must have heard before—but ignored it because all those negative bully thoughts pushed it to the back of my mind.

This little voice, in the sweetest of tone whispered “Be the change you want to see.”

What? Speak up little thought….push your way through those nasty bullies…

“Be the change you want to see.”

Huh!?!?

If this place I work at has no heart…has no soul…and I want to see it there…it has to start somewhere—right?

Today, was a challenge, but I made an effort to let it start with me.

When I left work today….that place now had a little heart…and that’s better then none.

Peace & Love.
