Recently Hansel and I spent the day at the Phoenix Art Museum. I absolutely love Art Museums, and especially go gaga over Contemporary Art that really makes a statement and stretches the whole idea of painting. That’s why I fell in LOVE LOVE LOVE with Peter Wegner’s piece Guillotine of Sunlight, Guillotine of Shade.
As you can see, it is a wall of beautiful color. On one side it is “sunlight”–the other side “shade”. Each side of the wall is made up of 1.4 million pieces of die cut card stock paper that is hung together–not stacked actually. The effect is beautiful as you can see.
Absolutely beautiful.
And when I got home I immediately looked up Peter Wegner. He’s one inspiring Artist that works in all different genres from installations like you see here–to sculpture–to collage–to even writing.
Very inspiring!
