Painting The Feminine :: Healing

Night time can sometimes be the hardest time for me.
I’m exhausted. My feet ache a little.
And something about the dark sky triggers my mind to analyze my day
and calculate all the ways I fell short.
Taking on this evening painting practice, or sadhana as I like to think of it–has helped curve this ridiculous habit.
Painting drives all thoughts toward healing.
It takes the energy of my day and shakes it out–
like shaking an old rug.
And allows love to fall back
into the spaces and nooks where once
the dust of my mind collected.
