#21DaysInMyArtWorld :: Favorite Technique

This January I’m playing along in Tara Leaver’s #21DaysInMyArtWorld challenge over on Instagram.  And just for fun I’m posting my photos and musings here on the blog as well. Today’s prompt is: Favorite Technique.

My all time favorite technique is called “gluing shit down”.

Every time I get to a point in my painting process where things turn stale, cloudy, or downright ugly I dip into my beloved stash of found papers, grab the first piece that yells the loudest, then start ripping & gluing!

I love how this little bit of random pattern or imagery breaks up the entire energy of the piece & leads me directly into new territory every time — even if it all gets covered over in the end.
