Hi there, Lovely One!

21 SECRETS Paper, Glue, Scissors is here! I Are you like a kid in the candy store, trying to decide which workshop to dive into first?

Well, today, I’m sharing with you my interview with Marcia Chadly, whose workshop, Magical Moments, I know you’re going to find magical and it may just be where you decide to begin your Paper-Glue-Scissors journey!

Marcia is very tuned-in when it comes to creating art—something she considers a spiritual practice—and she will support you in listening to your own inner guide.

Here’s what Marcia shared with me.

What is your earliest memory of a creative activity you enjoyed?

I have always loved art class in school and out! One of my early memories of being creative was thoroughly enjoying all kinds of different art making during classes at the Octagon Center for the Arts in Ames, Iowa. This was right around 1970 when I was in 2nd and 3rd grade. Both the Octagon and I are still making art!

Is there an element about your process that you’re especially passionate about?

Creativity is a spiritual practice for me. The foundation of my creative process is listening to my own inner wisdom. Letting things flow and following my inner voice while I am creating is fun and much needed practice for living my life in the same way.

Name a time when the art you were creating inspired another area of your life.

Creating is a powerful force in my life. After a divorce many years ago, I started creating fiber art figures. Those pieces helped me to re-member myself.

What is the one thing you hope we remember from your workshop?

What I would like you to remember from my workshop is to look for the magic within, around, and underneath your experiences. Those magic moments are gold waiting to be found.

Share something very few people know about you.

Reading the Harry Potter books out loud to my kids are some of my favorite memories. My kids grew up waiting with anticipation for the next book to be published. I do enjoy reading the books myself but reading them out loud is magical.

I sense hanging out with Marcia would be so calming and grounding and I imagine her having a way of always seeing a deeper meaning in all of her new discoveries.
