My friend Darrah over at Artcetera does this great thing every week called A Slice Of Life..where she posts a few photos taken from a day in her life. She inspired me to do the same at the end of my first day of school on Monday. When Fear Comes Rolling In

This is a photo of “The Good Life” taken in the Dirty Footprints Studio. The last day of school, before summer vacation, was a Thursday in May. On that day I had my classroom cleaned and packed away, all 906 students’ grades entered into the computer, required end-of-the-year paperwork finished, and a fun last day planned to sit and watch Wallace and Gromit on the large screen in the library with my kiddos. I am such the Art Teacher dynamo that I even embedded learning into this fun event–and we watched the “how it was made” extras on the DVD…

Commitment to Creativity….Commitment to You

There is less than a month to go till I’m back to work as an “Art Teacher”.  Till those first weeks of bliss when the students are on their best behavior and the teachers have NOT gone all the way cranky yet! Just the thought of being back in the classroom again brings butterflies in my stomach!  Part of my heart can’t wait to get back in the swing of sharing the joys of Creativity on a daily basis, and a part of me is already beginning to mourn the loss of this seamless celebration of my own Creativity.  So…
