#21DaysInMyArtWorld :: Art Book
Published on January 6, 2018
This January I’m playing along in Tara Leaver’s #21DaysInMyArtWorld challenge over on Instagram. And just for fun I’m posting my photos and musings here on the blog as well. Today’s prompt is:Art Book.

I received Colors: What They Mean & How To Make Them by Anne Varichon years ago as a gift and fell head over heals in love with it.
Not only is it chocked full of valuable and inspiring information & stories about the history, myth and manufacturing of colors, but I fell in love with the actual book itself. I was smitten with the size, the shape, the matte paper quality and most of all the gorgeous rich yummy photos. All I wanted to do was go crazy painting in it!
So silly me lived with this lust for about a year until it finally occurred to me that I could paint in it and buy a second one to read and keep in my art library! Awwww….duh.
Now it’s not only one of my favorite art books it’s also one of my most treasured art journals as well!
Another funny thing is that I always talk about this book in my biannual Painting The Feminine eCourse and my painters in that program tend to get one for themselves to paint in too!
I wonder if Ms Varichon knows what a painting sensation she created with this gem of hers? I’d like her to know I’m truly grateful — it’s one of my faves!
