Studio Updates

I woke up yesterday with my very first thought being that I absolutely must get my hand on some spankin’ brand new oil pastels. So guess what?!? I did. Not only did I get myself a set of nice oil pastels–I also splurged for a set of 24 of those yummy water soluble ones as well!! OOOohhhh!! I just absolutely LOVE LOVE LOVE oil pastels–they are great to layer and blend and smudge the crapola out of!!! Plus–those water soluble ones are like pure heaven–they make everything dreamy! I went through a phase when I was way back in art school that I adored Robert Motherwell (pictured above).  His paintings are simple and bold and fabulous and BIG!  And just usually black and white.  Seeing his work again got me majorly itching to go at it Motherwell style!
