Green is the color of the heart chakra.

It’s the same color as the rain forest–
a corn field in the middle of Ohio–
the uniform I wore in Catholic school–
a chunk of amazanite I carry in my purse–
and a series of paintings I did my freshman year in art school.

It’s the space I long to keep growing into.

My heart, that is.

And on the days I’m  brave enough–
it’s the green orchard I lose myself in.
